The Sustainability Council, with five subcommittees on Events, Food, House, Outreach, and Service, has been hard at work this past Fall term to provide students with opportunities to engage with the environment and community. Some highlights include:

  • Certification of Lawrenceville as a River Friendly School by the Watershed Institute
  • One-Time Event (OTE) community service opportunities with the Food for Thought Club to donate fresh produce from the Big Red Farm to Share My Meals, for food insecure families in the area
  • Environmental Justice Workshop in collaboration with the Hutchins Institute for Social Justice
  • Climate Change Lobbying and Legislation Workshop on Democracy Day
  • Lunch and Dialogue Documentary viewing and discussion in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) 
  • Relaunched school-wide Recycling Program since start of Fall term
